As the owner of the Soul Yoga Sanctuary, I am committed to your personal health and well being. It is my goal to give you a sense of healing and calm while experiencing our incredible classes. As a yogi, my primary focus is to bring a healthier, more peaceful lifestyle to as many people as I can. As an athlete, yoga brought to the surface a realization that we must conserve our bodies and honor our minds.
Fitness has always been a part of my life. I began competitive swimming at 8 and competed on the US National Swim Team. I received a full athletic scholarship to Boston University to swim and became an All-American student athlete. After BU, I began a career as a pro-triathlete racing for Scott bicycles. While training and racing, I fell in love with yoga. It gave me a mind-body connection that I had never experienced before. It helped heal internal and external wounds. I had to bring it to others. I received my Masters Degree in Education, as well as my yoga certification, and began teaching children and adults alike. I truly love what I do.
In 2009, I met my future husband, Adam Jaco and as a couple, in December of 2010 we opened SOUL YOGA SANCTUARY as well as Jaco Boxing and Fitness. We now have more than 8,000 square feet of dedicated yoga and training space. I am also a proud alum ambassador of lululemon athletica.
Ten years ago I came to a point in my life where I needed something for me, for my body and for my mind. I had tried a variety of exercise programs but nothing gave me the satisfaction that I was looking for, until I stumbled upon a Park District yoga class. As a professional dietician caring for seniors with Dementia and memory loss, my days were challenging yet yoga created a balance.
I developed my foundations in Anusara inspired Vinyasa Flow. I have also had extensive studies in the practice of Iyengar and therapeutic yoga. I received my 200 hour RYT Certification from my mentor, Silvia Mordini, received a certification in Prenatal Yoga and later completed my Personal Trainer Certification through the Aerobic and Fitness Association of America.
I believe the practice of Yoga enhances and improves the quality of our lives. When our lives become more demanding, it is essential that we take time to nurture our minds and heal our bodies. I feel privileged to share the physical and mental benefits of Yoga with individuals from all walks of life.
In mid 2012 Faye took her first yoga class by Kelli Jaco at Soul Sanctuary in Sarasota, Florida. “It was not as easy as I imagined; the true surprise was the sense of peace and joy I experienced while still being challenged. “
With a dedicated practice since her first yoga class, 2015 Faye embarked on a comprehensive 200hr yoga teacher training program at Bliss Living and Yoga in the Cayman Islands. She continues to deepen her anatomical references and philosophical knowledge of yoga under great and inspiring mentors.
Faye brings a welcoming approach to yoga and to her students. Her goal is to ensure each student is honored for their abilities on the mat and that they feel both comfortable and challenged. Faye offers dynamic vinyasa classes that are strong in body and sweet in heart for a complete inspirational experience.
